Did you know that August is a great time to see platypus in the ACT region? Waterwatch will be running free Platypus Walks on 7 and 21 August 2022. Group surveys throughout August 2022 help everyone understand more about these marvellous monotremes. Register for a walk or to volunteer for a survey now!
Upper Murrumbidgee Waterwatch
Upper Murrumbidgee Waterwatch engages the community in the environment through monitoring and caring for our catchments. We educate and raise awareness in schools and the community on issues concerning catchment health and we use data collected by volunteers to inform policy and on ground catchment management.

2021 CHIP Report released
The report is based on a record 1,779 water quality surveys, 181 water bug surveys and 219 riparian condition surveys conducted by over 200 volunteers.
February Platypus Surveys
While late winter is considered the ideal time for spotting platypus, February also sees a spike in sightings as the young are leaving the burrows for the first time. Due to Platypus Month (August) being cut short in 2021 due to COVID-19, we now need volunteers for February surveys.
